Description
Bristol is a city like no other – vibrant, diverse and full of opportunity. It offers a unique backdrop to lead and shape housing services that impact thousands of residents’ lives across the city.
It is an exciting time to join us. Housing is a key political and corporate priority, and this will be your opportunity to design and steer a newly created housing directorate in a core city for one of the largest council stock owning social landlords in the country and to tackle complex challenges and help us achieve our vision of providing healthy, resilient and inclusive neighbourhoods with fair access to decent, affordable homes.
As a key member of the corporate leadership team, our new Executive Director of Housing will share our passion and commitment to transform the organisation and improve outcomes for residents, fostering cross-council collaboration to maximise collective impact and achieve more together.
Providing strategic leadership across landlord and housing delivery services and responding to the Social Housing Regulator judgement, you will transform and lead a housing service in this new era that our city can be proud of. We know that good housing is a key determinant of well-being and promoting positive life chances, and through your inspirational leadership you will develop an ambitious strategy for housing, empowering colleagues and partners to address the many inequalities that exist in Bristol.
Responsible for all aspects of housing management, homelessness prevention, housing delivery and a significant portfolio of 27,000 residential homes, you will have an impressive track record in the strategic leadership of operational housing services.
Collaborative and inclusive in your approach, you will embrace the diversity of our city and promote an environment that respects the values and beliefs across our communities and cultures.
